Carl’s system was installed in Lindenhurst, IL, in February of 2020. In Illinois, homeowners may participate in the Illinois Shines program, where they are offered two incentives to convert to renewable energy. First is the 26% federal tax credit. This incentive is only available for solar systems that aren’t leased. Second is the SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Credit) program. This incentive allows homeowners to receive payment on a per kilowatt-hour basis. Solar systems are also property tax-exempt. In Carl’s case. his system was purchased and he has received the benefits of both incentives.

I was surprised by how easy it was. They answered every question I had. Eventually the solar payment will go away and I’m okay to be left paying $16 per month for electricity.
Everything proceeded ahead at lightning speed with great communication along the way. They also took care of all the rebate requirements as well, making the entire process very simple and quick.
